The WTO conference will be held in Hong Kong next month. What does the conference mean to us besides extra holidays due to demonstrations? We enjoy almost all kinds of imported goods with good quality and low prices. But while we go shopping on the weekends and enjoy discounts and sales, how much do the garment factory workers or farmers actually earn ? Is their income enough to live decent lives? Is it enough to pay for their children's school fees? The WTO regulates global trade rules. But how transparent is it? Are the views of developing countries considered?
